Abstract

Background. It has been established that in patients who survived an ischemic stroke, the likelihood of recurrence of cerebral circulatory disorders reaches 30%. The overall risk of recurrent cerebral circulatory disorders in the first 2 years after a stroke is 4-14%, with recurrent ischemic stroke developing in the first month in 2-3% of the survivors, in the first year 10-16%, then about 5% annually.
Materials and methods. We have analyzed 50 case reports of patients with recurrent ischemic stroke on the background of arterial hypertension, who were treated from 2012 to 2017.
Results. The study revealed the main etiopathogenetic factors for the development of recurrent ischemic stroke on the background of arterial hypertension, as well as features of clinical manifestations.
Conclusions. The main factors in the development of recurrent ischemic stroke in the study group were dyslipidemia, exertional angina, smoking, diabetes mellitus, a history of transient ischemic attack, obesity, atrial fibrillation, as well as in patients older than 60 years. Clinical polymorphism and the severity of the manifestations of the studied pathology indicate that recurrent ischemic stroke is more severe, more often accompanied by severe disability and less complete recovery of patients.
